Eco-friendly Woodworm Treatments: Our Microwave System
Benefits and Features
Ineco SRL uses an innovative technique for woodworm treatment in your home. Our experts operate with an eco-friendly treatment with microwaves, an innovative method consisting in warming up the wood so as to allow the microwaves to penetrate deeply into it.
In this way eggs, larvae, insects, molds and so forth are killed. This is the best treatment for woodworm eradication, allowing you to solve the problem without dangerous chemicals.
Do not be afraid for your furniture at all. The heating process produces an increasing temperature that is spread only through molecules of water, fat and carbohydrates. This allows the elimination of all what is organic located within the timber, without affecting the treated wood.
Totally eco-friendly operation and suitable to any situation
Preservation of the treated material
No discomfort for the customer
To learn more about woodworm and woodworm control

A woodworm attack (insects that feed on wood) causes a change of the technological characteristics of wood. In some cases the damage is so severe that may weaken the wood supporting power or alter its aspects.
Such worms use wood as a food source and a place to build their nests. The presence of woodworms cause the severe deterioration of wood, although its main components (cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin) offer some resistance.
The tunnels are excavated by larvae that digest the wood (wood-eating insects).
The larval stage has a specific duration of time for each family: from a few months to a few years. At the end of the larval cycle they reach the state of perfect insect (adult) coming out of the wood and leaving a permanent mark: the flickering hole.
This insect has as its sole purpose the reproduction which takes place with coupling of similar insects of the opposite sex. The egg-laying takes place on the surface of the wood, especially rough surfaces and cracks.
Woodworm is the wood-eating larvae of many species of beetle. The most common:
ANOBIUM
Sono diffusi in manufatti lignei di ogni genere, sono i classici tarli dei mobili. Producono fori di sfarfallamento di piccole dimensioni (qualche mm di diametro), infestano legno di latifoglia e di conifera.
LYCTINAE
They can affect any kind of wood especially if soft, rich in starch and sugar. Shot holes normally range in diameter from 1⁄32 inch (0.79 mm) to 1⁄8 inch (3.2 mm) and can be easily found in the bark or sapwood timbers.
CERAMBYCIDAE
Also konwn as long-horned or longicorns. Hylotrupes bajulus, is a particular problem indoors. Trichofeurs is another genus of beetle in the family Cerambycidae.
Effective methods of preventing the spread of woodworm can be conducted with a simple or complemented action. Infestation can be controlled by a number of extermination methods – mechanical, physico-chemical techniques.
Mechanical technique consists of a set of devices used to prevent the spread of infestation (light source, trap at pheromones, screen net). Some woodwom removal methods are aimed to the layers of timber: planing and coating the wood surface decreases its roughness and prevents a future laying.
Physical technique consists of changing the environment for the insects. Main methods cause the heating of infected timbers. The use of aerothermal is a method based on heating inducted of the wood. The woodwom removal method with a microwave system – generating an electromagnetic field – heats wood and insects affecting their water molecules.
Chemical technique consists in application of a residual insecticide to infected areas. Coating, injection on the surface or deep into the wood aims to reach all parts of it and exterminate the woodboring beetles in the larval stage.
